How to purchase:

AVCA memberships are valid for the current calendar year regardless of when the fee is paid. For example, a $10.00 fee paid on October 5th, 2024 will expire on December 31st, 2024.

If you are unsure whether you have paid for the current calendar year, please inquire at this email address: [email protected].

Three ways to renew:

  1. Send a $10 e-transfer to [email protected].
  2. Bring $10 to the Monthly meeting at Rideau Park United Church. The Monthly meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday, from September to May.
  3. Mail a cheque made out to the Alta Vista Community Association to AVCA, c/o Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, ON, K1H 7L9

However you choose to renew, be sure to include your full name, address, phone number, and email. Please note that we will file the email address you send with your request so if you want a different one on file please indicate that as well.

If you are paying for more than one person, please give us the names of all of the members for whom you are paying.

e-Transfers sent to [email protected] are automatically deposited to the account of ALTA VISTA COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION at RBC Royal Bank (if it is sent from a Financial Institution that supports this feature).

Acknowledgement

You acknowledge that AVCA is required under ONCA to adhere to this requirement. By providing us with your Personal Information, you acknowledge that your Personal Information may be disclosed in accordance with section 96 of ONCA.

Alta Vista Community Association Privacy Policy in accordance with the
Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act

The purpose of this policy is to clarify how your personal information (hereinafter “Personal Information”), provided in any capacity, will be used or disclosed by the Alta Vista Community Association (“AVCA”). Personal Information may include your name, email address, home address, phone number, or other information that may directly or indirectly identify you.

Under section 96 of the Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, (“ONCA”), all not-for-profits in Ontario are required to disclose to a member, or a member’s legal representatives (the “Requestor”), a list of all members in a not-for-profit.

AVCA will require the Requestor to sign a statutory declaration in accordance with section 96(3) of ONCA that states that the Requestor will only use the list of members for one of the three reasons:

  1. To influence the voting of members; or
  2. To request a meeting of the members; or
  3. Another matter related to the “affairs of the corporation”

“Affairs of the Corporation” means any of the “affairs of the corporation” detailed in AVCA’s by-laws.
AVCA’s statutory declaration may, at AVCA’s sole discretion, request further requirements or clarifications from the Requestor. Further, AVCA may, at its sole discretion, require the Requestor to destroy the Personal Information after the purpose outlined in the statutory declaration is fulfilled.
